However, what you were reading was the Community speaking. And, I think that's important to pay attention to. So, what are you hearing as the Community speaks? What's your sense of what the Lord is saying to us through this?

Thanks for taking time on this.

I agree with Mark, that this is a beautiful picture/summary of our past 3 months together.
ReplyDeleteMRT is like the sail on a boat trying to catch the wind of the Spirit.
The summary was helpful--thanks John.
ReplyDeleteI sense affirmation from God that this is a good path; that the committment we made to this a few months back has helped many of us become more experienced listeners both personally and corporately.
This experience confirms again the value of "experimenting" with ideas and practices as a way to invite others to catch an idea that might not otherwise get caught.
The MRT has provided a definite plan to stick with, and between those of us meeting as a MRT together, it gives a sense of unity and direction. I can connect with various ones around the state, and can see God moving through our listening and watching. I have appreciated the 'intentionality' of the MRT. Thanks, John, for all your hard work in compiling the summary. I'm sure it took a lot of work, but it was beautiful, and worth it.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with the previous comments. Maybe it's worth summarising John's summary by extracting the titles. Here they are.
ReplyDeleteMission from listening - community (I'm not alone) - helped my local MRT - viral - training/learning - should this continue?
Rearranging a little and turning the question into the affirmative that I know most (all?) of us feel leads to...
Listening communities working locally help us with our focus. They are likely to spread virally and should continue to share stories centrally for encouragement, training, and learning.
This suggests 'Listening Communities for Mission' (LCMs). But I'm happy to stick with MRT. Handles for things are rather useful but as someone pointed out, names can be dangerous.
