Financing apostles (1)

The third innovation this summer has to do with financing apostolic church planters. Here's a starting place in thinking about this topic.

In many ways, mission work is better done when a community is involved as opposed to individual work. Trinitarian terms help us see how God sent Jesus and provided resources for His work and then sent the Holy Spirit and provided what was necessary there as well. In the same way, Trinitarian God sends church as a part of His community into the world. A part of this sending is granting certain gifts to people and providing them with resources to apply those gifts for God's Kingdom.

  2. John - I am inspired by this "future perfect!" I think it is a fabulous way to work backward - dreaming intentionally, and then moving forward to the miracle of "vibrant families of Jesus in close reach of every person."

It helps for me to take notes on your thoughts - I think there is lots of quality content in this vision...

-Each one is a healthy family...
-Each one is led by a spiritual grown up(s)...
-Hundreds of "apostolic coaches" throughout each city...
-Most of these coaches are "tentmakers" - some are full time in the workforce, some part time, and some are full time coaches...
-"A culture of generosity" among churches, not a single coach who is in great financial need...

  3. Great summary, Mark! May this be true of Chicago as well as Denver.
